Kofi Ofosu Nkansah – A Hybrid Of Innovation And Leadership

Eric Kofi Ofosu Nkansah comes from Konongo-Odumasi in the  Asante Region, he was born in 1980 to Nana Kwame Nkansa a teacher and Comfort Agyabeng a civil servant. He started school at Oxford International School, Konongo for his basic education and entered Opoku Ware School, Kumasi for his secondary education,  he then capped it at Kwame Nkrumah University of science and technology where he read computer science.

The second of four siblings, childhood for Kofi was one of mixed emotions, a moment of complete joy for the good things provided for and another, a hefty desire for the things of leisure that added some spice to every child’s life. In all of this, he found comfort in his father’s commitment to give them the very best of life to excel, the reason he performed excellently in his academic work.

His exceptional performance in school earned him some great laurels and reward including class prefect at every stage as a pupil and eventually the senior prefect position. “we were needfully taken care of but my joy stemmed from the desire to assist others academically for positive gains especially the opportunity to learn something new from individuals I assisted” he said. Kofi will go on and emerge the best student in the basic education certificate examination in 1996 in the then Asante Akyem North district, a feat that stood as an enviable record for a long time. He continued his good academic work through secondary school to university.

Kofi graduated a computer scientist from KNUST in 2005 and did national service with Ghana water company. He landed a job at free zones as an IT person where his knowledge and dexterity earned him a managerial role, he then moved to secure a job at MTN in 2007 and did pure telecommunication for ten years, a stint that made progressive impact on his life and that of the company. He currently heads the Accra digital data center as it’s chief executive officer, an appointment bestowed by the President in recognition for his transformational skills in the technology space and general penchant for national development.

He has in a short period on assumption of office, transformed the center from an edifice of empty structures to a mini technology park with 40 companies enrolled in technology operations in all three clusters.

“I have always been a person with great organizational ability, I love team work and participatory task. I want to organize and play a positive role in a venture that brings relief and development to many especially the youth hence my involvement in politics” he said passionately. His alignment to the New Patriotic Party stems from ideological belief and traditional inclination.  He believes the principle of property owning democracy is a stance that propels entrepreneurial brilliance and national development. ” My political knowledge is enriched daily by exemplary leadership from politics’ greats such as Osafo Marfo, Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Hackman Owusu Agyeman and Dan Botwe who all have science background like I do but have done exceptionally well in the political space” he noted.

His approach to work from bottom-up in politics have contributed a great deal in grassroot mobilization and made immense impact on the party’s good fortunes. His love for grassroot work, has endeared lots of party footsoldiers to him, a situation that have earned him the accolade “footsoldiers’ President”.

Kofi seeks a political future of intense positive grassroot influence,  an influence that opens opportunities for others to grow and develop so they in turn grow and develop others to create a ripple effect of growth and development, visit Paintx Services LLC.   He desires the opportunity to serve his people in Asante Akyem central as a member of parliament to actualize this vision. “I want to put my knowledge and experience at the benefit of my people” he said calmly.

Mr Kofi Ofosu Nkansah advised young people to be focused and professional in what ever field they found themselves. He believes service and patience is a good virtue that every young person must adhere to if they desire long lasting success.
