Government has revealed that the Moree Senior High School will be named after late former Vice President of Ghana, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.
This was disclosed in a tribute read by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on behalf of the government.
“His Excellency president and the government have decided to rename Moree SHS to Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur SHS in honour of the late former Vice President,” he said.
Describing the late Vice President as a definition of a gentleman, Dr Bawumia said he imprinted his mark on the Ghanaian political landscape in a manner that requires telling for another generation.
He said late Amissah-Arthur served the country in various capacities, adding that the history of Ghana will not be written without his name.
“You played your part, and you played it well. We are all human and subject to failings of the human condition but in spite of that you did not fail to make an impression on all whoever came into contact with you”, Dr Bawumia said.
Kwesi Amissah-Arthur died on June 29, 2018, after he collapsed at the Airforce Gym in Accra during a workout session.
